Among truck lovers, the Ford F-150 nameplate speaks for itself. After all, the F Series has been America’s best-selling vehicle for nearly four decades. Even with such an impressive model, though, there’s always room for improvement—especially when it comes to tearing it up off-road.
In 2010, the first generation Ford F-150 Raptor entered our New Mexico Ford dealership and blew drivers out of the water. A beastly variation of the F-150 designed specifically to dominate the dirt and the trail, the Raptor became an instant icon.
Now, we’re making space in our showroom for the arrival of the all-new Raptor model. The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is set to reach our New Mexico showroom this fall, and many of our customers are already getting revved up.
A New Engine and New Body Options Make for a Whole Different Animal
One difference that’s easy to spot is the option of a SuperCrew model for the 2017 F-150 Raptor. Still adorned with all of the Raptor’s signature stylistic cues, the SuperCrew model also delivers on the features drivers love in the F-150 SuperCrew: bigger doors, and a full rear row in the cabin for more passenger space.
What most drivers are eager to know about the 2017 F-150 Raptor, though, can’t be seen without popping the hood and taking a look in the engine bay. An all-new twin-turbo, intercooled DOHC 24-valve high-output 3.5L EcoBoost with direct fuel injection is at the core of this beastly pickup. Don’t let its size fool you; this twin-turbo is projected to deliver even more power than the previous Raptor’s 6.2L V8.
The engine isn’t the only new upgrade on this monster. You’ll also enjoy a 10-speed automatic transmission with manual-shifting mode for supreme control. Off-road fans are also sure to love the 2017 F-150 Raptor’s 3.0-inch FOX Racing Shox, with custom internal bypass technology. This is the solution drivers have been after for great off-road damping paired with a smooth performance when you’re back on the pavement.
Here at Ziems Ford Corners, we can’t wait to see this all-new machine at our dealership and we know that our customers can’t, either.
